Synthesis, Structural Characterization and Electrochemical Studies of New Schiff Base Macrocyclic Ligand and Their Co (II), Ni (II), Cu (II), Zn (II) and Cd (II) Metal Complexes

A new macrocyclic ligand (H2L) was synthesized by reaction of Acenaphthoquinone and oaminophenol. Then, its Co (II), Ni (II), Cu (II), Zn (II) and Cd (II) complexes were synthesized by the condensation method. Macrocyclic ligand (H2L) and Co(NO3)2.6H2O, Ni(NO3)2.6H2O, Cu(NO3)2.6H2O, ZnCl2.2H2O and CdCl2.2H2O respectively. The ligand and its complexes have been characterized by IR, H, UV–Vis spectra, conductivity measurements, mass spectra, and cyclic voltammetry.
